Ellie: On Dunkin Donuts

Daddy I love going to Dunkin Donuts with you. I love the signs they have because they have pictures of yummy stuff that makes me hungry right now. Because they have sugary stuff right?

Jonah's room is the size of many walk-in closets in new homes. But we make do the best we can. And the kids don't seem to mind to much.

Welcoming Nathan Seth Ward

Ellie and Jonah are proud to announce the arrival of their very first cousin - Nathan. Weighing in at 8 lbs 6.5 oz and 22 inches long, Nathan was born on June 10th (right in between his cousin Jonah's bday and his Aunt Jen's). So from now on it's going to be a big old celebration weekend in the beginning of June!

Welcome to the world big guy!

Why I Drink

Okay, so I'm going to vent just a tad here b/c my day was sooooooo sucky. It started off by waking up at 5 am for whatever unknown reason and not being able to get back to sleep. I love my sleep. I tried and tried but could not get back to la-la land no matter how hard I tried. I even tried to trick myself into thinking I had taken two Advil PM. But no luck. You know how your mind races and everything seems so monumental (I just had the best idea ever, in fact it's probably the best idea a person has come up with since, like the dawn of time -or- what was that noise? It could be the cat, but it's probably an ax murderer just waiting for me to close my eyes before the pounce, oh wait that could be the cat too) when you have insomnia? Well, I hate that.

Then we go to the playground to meet up with some old friends. We're there for oh, I don't know, 15 minutes when Jonah falls on the pavement face first and starts bleeding all over the place. I kept my cool but one of the women there was like, "you'd better get him to an ER." I've been to an ER. It is a minimum wait of 4 hours in the ER. So my friend dialed our pediatrician for me and I took him there. Got to love living in a neighborhood where you all go to the same doctor.

We saw the pediatrician and she referred us to a pediatric dentist. So we make an emergency visit to the pediatric dentist. During this time Jonah only got a 30 minute nap b/c of the visits.

After that I had to rush 20something miles away to pick up these items that absolutely needed to be shipped overnight to NY. So I had to rush back 20something miles to get to the only Fedex that had a late enough pickup that I could make. I googled it using my cell and of course when I asked if it was the location I thought it was they said yes. Well, apparently there are TWO locations in the same place (well within 2 miles of one another) and I ended up at the wrong one. Of course. So I rush to the correct location and through a comedy of errors and hapless staff, I finally make it out of there (after about 30 minutes for only two boxes that had all the information completely filled out before hand, thanks idiots).

All this and it's only, oh, 8 pm and I've been up since 5 am. ARGH!

NOTE: Jonah is fine. He has a wobbly tooth and we have a follow up appointment in 3 months to make sure there wasn't further damage that will require them to pull out the tooth leaving him with a great big ol' gap in the front until the age of 6 or 7 when his permanent teeth come in. But the dentist doesn't think this is very likely. Thank heaven!

Oh but this does mean an end to the binky (aka pacifier) which he is very upset about. On the bright side, hello pudding, jello and mashed bananas for the next couple days.

Happy June

June is a very special and coincidentally very active month for us. Today we travel to a cousins wedding in northern PA then in the next two weeks we have two birthdays (Jonah's and mine which are just 3 days apart) which is then followed by Father's Day. And somewhere in the middle of all that, my sister is going to have a baby!

Hope you all get to find a little breathing room in your June schedule. I know I'll have to pencil some in for ours.
