Does it really begin so early—this art of manipulation?
The other day Dave and I took Ellie to get some new shoes. We had picked out a cute gray and pink number but she had her heart set on a brown and pink number (with pink flowers and hello kitty of course). When I tried to talk up the gray/pink number that Dave and I had picked out her response was:
But Mommy, these (holding up the brown shoes) are the same color as your hair. I like that.
And while I shouldn't have let that persuade me darn it, I just couldn't resist her dedication and cleverness. So yes, she walked away with the shoes of her choice. She's not even five yet. I'm sure I don't even want to imagine what's in store for us down the road.

Ah yes, they do start young. How do you think Helena ended up with her boots lol? I wanted a more practical shoe or at least a lower cut boot but she HAD to have knee-high ones (like mama's).
I love those boots!
What are we in store for with these girls? They are certainly clever, I'll give them that ;)
LOL- Smart girl! Great scam she's running. :)
